How much am I charged for data roaming usage when my included volume is used up?

If you run out of data, you'll be redirected to a page offering additional Data Packs, valid for 365 days after activation. See "Roaming cost management".

Without any option or additional Data Packs, you might be charged up to CHF 15/MB, depending on the travel zone you're in. Find the details here: Tariffs abroad.

In this case, you won’t be charged beyond the set limit. You can change these limits in My Account → Subscriptions → Configuration.

 

What other precautions can I take to avoid roaming data usage?

There are several ways to minimize your costs when traveling abroad:

  • Use a subscription that includes data (unlimited or not), like Europe+.

  • Use Data Packs. See Data Packs.

  • Reduce roaming costs by setting a limit. To do this, go to My Account → Subscriptions → Configuration.

  • Deactivate mobile data abroad, either in your phone’s settings or via the network (you can contact our Contact Center for that).

  • On a Samsung S7, for example, the “Smart network switch” function must also be turned off. Some Android devices also have a “Data Saver” function — make sure you activate it.

  • To avoid any further risk, you should also deactivate the following functions:

    • Wi-Fi Assist (iPhone)

    • Download Booster (Samsung)

 

Is there a charge for the Voicemail in Switzerland or abroad?

Receiving messages and calling your Voicemail on the Sky Mobile domestic network is free.

Abroad:

  • Receiving messages is charged twice — once as an incoming roaming call and once as an outgoing roaming call.

  • Calling your Voicemail is charged as an outgoing roaming call.

To avoid these charges, we recommend deactivating your Voicemail before your trip.
